STAND Against COVID 19

• Lakhs of people were stranded when the transport services were shut post 25th March 2020 due to the nation-wide lock-down.

Such people do not even have a place to live let alone have access to basic meals a day. Some people have exhausted their gas cylinder or kerosene and cannot buy more because they have no money.

• The pan India Corona virus lock-down left a lot of migrant workers, stuck in the cities, jobless, with hardly any resources.

Many who retreated back to their villages are also struggling to sustain their families

We have activated our pan India urban and rural teams, network of partner organizations and volunteers, built over the last six years, to start relief operations. This network has helped us learn from the ground, reach material quickly and review and adapt our strategies periodically. 

Covid-19 Relief Activities

Project I: Help Procure Food and Hygiene Essentials

Since the outbreak of Covid-19, we at KIA Foundation have been distributing Food and Hygiene essentials to the tribal families and laborers living in and around Maharashtra, Assam, and Rajasthan.

Each kit we distribute is enough to feed and take care of the hygiene requirements of four individuals for 15days, which is getting distributed twice a month in the designated areas. This distribution is planned for a period of 3 months. So far, we have supported 1,131 families and approximately 4,524 individuals.

Hygiene Kit: 1 Bathing Soap (125gm), 1 Detergent Bar (250gm), 2 Face Masks.

Food Kit: Cooking Oil (2ltr), Salt (1kg), Sugar (1kg), Tea Powder (250grm), Wheat Flour / Rice (5 kg), Masoor Dal/Tur Dal (2 kg), Haldi (250gms), Jeera powder (250gms)

You can either provide us the essentials mentioned above or donate Rs.1100 towards a single kit. 

We will distribute the kit on your behalf.

Project II: Donate to support community Kitchen By KIA

We, at KIA Foundation along with our network of partner organizations and volunteering field team, decided to provide lunch and dinner through our community kitchens to serve such individuals living in slums / temporary huts / roads of Santosh Nagar, Goregaon east and Jogeshwari East, Kandivali East along with some other slum pockets of Mumbai.We have fed more than 5,527 individuals as of today.

By donating Rs.100 each (that helps us feed one individual) you will help us keep our community kitchen running.

Covid-19 Displacement & Hunger Management

Immediate Relief and Support to affected people: We reached about 10000 people and aim to touch upon 20000 lives by supporting them with basic hygiene and food requirements through our network of people comprising our local teams, volunteers, partners, and community workers.

Our experienced teams, with a deeper connect with ground level communities,well trained in handling large scale logistics,with flexibility, agility and adapting their strategies quickly.
