This project aims to conduct 3,000 HPLC carrier tests, preventing future Thalassemia cases, and raising awareness about Thalassemia and its economic burden through 50 awareness sessions in colleges, corporations, and the community.

Blood Warriors-SVP India

Sandeep Kavety and Krishna Vamshi are young founders dedicated to making a difference in the field of Thalassemia. Their organization's two-pronged approach addresses:

1. The transfusion needs of children diagnosed with Thalassemia
2. Raising awareness about the disease and the importance of HPLC testing for prevention.

For the past year, SVP has partnered with Blood Warriors to enhance their Blood Bridge initiative, which connects individuals with thalassemia to groups of 8-10 dedicated blood donors. This network ensures essential blood transfusions every 15-20 days and fosters emotional connections, turning donors into mentors and long-term supporters.

Currently, 58 thalassemia warriors benefit from the efforts of over 579 volunteers, creating a strong community-driven network. To improve efficiency, the initiative employs an AI-powered chatbot for donor scheduling, ensuring timely support while minimizing errors.

The program aims for a Thalassemia-free India by 2035, providing comprehensive medical, emotional, and social support while raising awareness and promoting prevention.

The current fundraising campaign focuses on awareness and HPLC carrier testing initiatives in colleges, corporations, and communities to prevent new thalassemia cases.

Expected Outcomes

● Raise awareness about Thalassemia and its economic burden through 50 awareness sessions in colleges, corporations, and community events

● Conduct 3,000 HPLC carrier tests, preventing future Thalassemia cases

● For every ₹24,000 invested in testing, India's economy can save over ₹66,000 annually and an estimated ₹25,00,000 in lifetime medical expenses per patient
