For children living in care, these festive moments can mean even more. A special meal, a new backpack, a thoughtful gift, and the feeling that someone remembers and cares about them can create memories they cherish for years.

Lalitha, Vice President of SPID, is leading this festive initiative to bring warmth, happiness, and a sense of togetherness to children living in SPID homes and shelters, including children from the GB Road area.

This Diwali and 14th Nov. CHILDREN'S DAY, we want every child to feel seen, valued, celebrated, and cared for.

:) A Special Festive Celebration

We are planning a delicious and memorable festive lunch, fun & activities and backpacks filled with useful gifts for the children.

We hope to create a day filled with:

🎒 A new backpack and thoughtful gifts

😊 Laughter, fun, and celebration

✨ The joy of receiving something chosen especially for them

🌈 Precious memories of a festive day shared together

👧👦 The Children and Caregivers We Hope to Celebrate With

Our celebration will bring together children and the dedicated people who care for them:

1) Boys Home: 29 children + 10 core staff

2) Kishori Home: 45 children + 10 core staff

3) GB Road SMS Open Shelter: 33 children + 9 core staff

4) Balika Grih: 15 children + 6 core staff

5) Head Office: 22 staff members

In total, we hope to bring festive cheer to 122 children and 57 staff members — 179 people in all.

A backpack may seem like a simple gift, but to a child, receiving something new and chosen especially for them can bring an unforgettable smile.

A festive lunch may last only a few hours. But the memory of sitting together, enjoying delicious food, receiving a gift, laughing with friends, and feeling cared for can stay in a child's heart for much longer.
