Project Annapurna (अन्नपूर्णा)

A month-long lockdown has led to the loss of livelihood amidst social distancing rules affecting the daily wage earners, urban poor & many other vulnerable groups. In these times, all the vulnerable groups are highlighted and helped, however, the families & children of inmates are outcasted from these lists and are a segment of neglect & stigma. Many have tried to be self-sufficient and run their households in these distressing times. But as the lockdown continues lack of ration, basic necessities, and loss of income has led many beneficiaries to reach out to the foundation for additional help.

The foundation has connected with 300 families (1500 members) of Prison inmates to understand their requirements. After need analysis, the foundation is trying to raise funds through crowdfunding platforms, and also are urging individuals to contribute and lend a helping hand to these families to fight the pandemic.

• This project will benefit 300 families (1500 members) of Prison inmates across DELHI NCR with basic necessities, that will bring parity, and bridge the gap by fulfilling their basic needs
• Often due to stigma & neglect, individuals result in contributing to nefarious activities, the project will support families so that they do not become a part of the vicious circle of crime.
• To save the children from being victims of their parental incarceration and help them lead a safe, dignified life.
• Align with the SDG1(No Poverty), SDG2(No Hunger), SDG16(Inclusive Societies) & SDG17(Partnerships & Collaborations) by providing the vulnerable groups' equal access & opportunity.
