Chhoti Si Asha

Chhoti Si Asha’s prime focus is the future of the Nation. As always, the worst affected are the children and keeping in mind the future we are turning our attention to their needs to build long-term projects to benefit them. The truth is that as much as can be done should be done and even that will not be enough to avert the human tragedy that’s unfolding.

Rotary India has extended magnanimous service to children towards Health, Nutrition, Polio Eradication, Pedriatric Heart Surgeries, E Learning, building Happy Schools and many more. The focus of the event is Education Program to bring out of school children back to school, under Rotary India’s flagship Program Asha Kiran....a ray of hope.

Rotary India and Rotary Club of Bombay present a Mega Fundraiser star studded event Chhoti Si Asha on 28th June ,2020 – an event dedicated to the causes of children in India. The event is curated by Wizcraft International.

The Child Development program, known as Asha Kiran... a ray of hope, aims to bring out-of-school children back to school. The vision and goal is to send 1 lakh Out of school children back to school.    

Rotary India Literacy Mission, the literacy vertical of RIHF, partners with grass root level organizations to identify out of-school children between the ages 7-14 years from vulnerable communities. Children from socially and economically disadvantaged communities like children of migrant workers, victims of child labour practices, tribal communities and children in need of care and protection etc get priority.

Asha Kiran….. a ray of hope is the name given to the Child Development initiative to send 100,000 out of school children back to school. Children from vulnerable communities who have never been enrolled to any School or have been dropped out of school, are send back to school after required brushing up. The objective is to facilitate these children’s access to mainstream state funded primary / elementary schools.

The project intends to mainstream out of school children to formal school. The expected outcome of the project will be that parents will become more responsible towards their children and they will send their children regularly to school. There will be decrease in social evils like child labor, child marriage and gender inequality. The girl child will get special attention and they will be able to attain education to secure their lives in the future. There will be decrease in the dropout rates in these areas as children will be enrolled and linked with government schools. The NFE/ Supplementary education centers will also help the weak students to understand their syllabus in a better way and indirectly increase interest in studies and interest in going to school. This will also improve the quality of education of these children.

This is a good opportunity to educate the children of the marginalized communities with due emphasis on literacy, functional efficiency and social awareness to overcome the problems of illiteracy, socio- economic and cultural bondages.
