Save Little Hearts

In India, it is estimated that over 200,000 infants are born every year with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) and out of these, more than 70,000 are born with critical CHD and require intervention within the first year of life to survive. Currently, advanced cardiac care is available to only a minority of such children as most cardiac care centers are in metropolitan cities. Many underprivileged families suffer through the trauma of losing their child due to the lack of awareness, financial resources, infrastructure, high levels of poverty, and the cost of surgery. 

We’re changing this demographic by providing financial support to lesser-privileged children who need heart defect surgeries all across India. Our support varies from specific surgeries (including neonatal), cath lab interventions along with recovery and recuperation post-surgery. We are the foremost NGO in India focusing on the treatment of CHD, which is still an obscure space. Genesis Foundation supports children with CHD from families where monthly income is Rs 15,000 per month or lesser, allowing every child to access quality healthcare as a basic right to life.

We strive to Save Little Hearts with a clear vision that the life of every child is equally precious and no child should die due to a lack of funds. We envision an India devoid of deaths caused by Congenital Heart Defects. To ensure this, we work directly with families, guardians, doctors and social workers to provide timely and best medical treatment for underprivileged children. By partnering with hospitals that have advanced pediatric cardiac care we have a growing network of medical professionals who enable us to help these children. Moreover, to enhance the awareness at the grassroot level, we organize screening camps in remote parts of the country which has a two-fold benefit - awareness and early intervention of CHD. Thus, taking healthcare right to their doorstep with the help of our patrons, donors, and CSR partners.  

We also raise awareness and encourage collaborations with individual and institutional stakeholders – through events, CSR programs, donations, crowd-sourcing, and fund-raising initiatives. This helps us build a community that whole-heartedly believes in our cause.

The Foundation aims to plant the seed of giving within a society that believes and is aware that life precedes everything, because without life, there is nothing.

Together, we can give life a chance to lesser-privileged children born with Congenital Heart Defects every year in India.

With our efforts, we want to bring about a change by:

• Advise and support families with children who have heart defects
• Upskilling doctors, nurses and medical support staff in smaller cities as they are usually the first contact and can help with earlier diagnosis, making a difference between life and death
• Inculcate a sense of social responsibility within the society through supporters and donors
• Champion our cause which provides treatment for lesser privileged children born with Congenital Heart Defects in India
