A Day for You a Year for Us

Diya Foundation is a Vocational Training Center for adults who are intellectually challenged. The past year has been a great year of networking and achievements for us in terms of training our students and their achievements of the goals set. Funds raised in the World 10K was Rs.23,00,000/- which went towards the training program of our specially abled adults. 

The everyday tasks that we take for granted have to be broken down and taught to a specially-abled adult with intellectual challenges. These are life-altering moments for them. Our adults have learned to block print, stitch, iron clothes, fold clothes, knead flour and make chapattis, shave themselves, learned to zumba, had makeovers and learned to walk the ramp all of which has really contributed to their self esteem and self confidence.

As part of our fundraising program, Our aim is to raise as much as we can so that the training program and the Independent/Assisted Living pilot project to showcase the life skills learnt during training can be transferred and put to actual use as a future living option. We need around Rs.53,00,000/- to run the training program this coming year.
