Aao Baat Karein - Eradication of Child Sexual Abuse

The statistics of sexual abuse in India are quite horrifying with a 5 times spike in the numbers during lockdowns.

• Every 15 minutes a child gets sexually abused with a lifelong impact.
• Half the child population of India, i.e. 53% have faced some form of child sexual abuse.
• Latest data shows sexual abuse of boys at 53% and girls at 47%.
• Sexual abusers are from either gender and trusted individuals with easy access to children.
• 70% victims of child sexual abuse don’t disclose their story.
• 20% of children experience severe sexual abuse.

Can we stand up against this violation of the most basic human rights of a child?

Parwarish Cares Foundation has taken a pivotal step to eradicate child sexual abuse by launching its flagship program “Aao Baat Karein”. It educates children on the issue of child sexual abuse and empowers them to fight and raise their voice against it.

During September 2021 to February 2022, PCF has sensitized 3000+ children.

We aim to continue this mission of eradication of Child Sexual Abuse and sensitize 220000 more such children and individuals with YOUR help.

Our actions:

• Pool of trainers to have open and forthright communications about sexual abuse with children, parents, teachers & caregivers.
• Sessions on building gender sensitivity and early adolescent stage issues.
• Safety kits for school.
• Setting up child safety committees in schools.
• Raising awareness about child sexual abuse in slum areas.

To create a safe society where every child and adult knows what child sexual abuse is- how to recognise, prevent it, deal with it. To break the taboos associated with the concept of sexual abuse and have open communication on it. To educate and empower children with practical tools to deal with emergencies.
