The Naz Foundation (India) Trust, abbreviated as Naz is working on sexuality and sexual health since 1994. Naz’s vision is to create a just and equitable society by transforming individuals from socially and economically excluded communities into agents of change. Through the years, Naz worked on various programs for combating HIV: involving prevention as well as care, to reduce stigma, improve health, and empower families. We aim to sensitize about the prevalence of HIV and also highlight the issues related to sexuality and sexual health.

India is home to the world’s largest population of HIV+ orphans. Unfortunately, the number continues to rise. Naz opened the first Care Home for the Children Living with HIV in north India in 2001, after a child was abandoned at our doorstep. This thriving home currently looks after 19 children providing them with educational, medical, nutritional and psychological support around the clock. Our home has become a model care home to such child care institutions throughout India. We teach our model to other institutions through our adopting a right-based approach for children living with HIV/AIDS program.
