Abandoned By Their Own, Sai Dhaam Cares For 60+ Disabled Children

In the heart of the city stands a shelter almost invisible to the world- the  Dev Anand Divyang Ashram, home to  60 mentally and physically challenged childrenwho were once abandoned on the streets with no one to claim them.

Its founder,  Dev Ananddidn’t set out to become a saviour. He simply lost everything. When his wife passed away, people told him it was punishment for his sins, that he was cursed. But in that moment of unimaginable grief, he found his purpose instead.

With no funds and no support, he begged for bricks quite literally, one by one and built an ashram where no child would be left to die alone again

Living With Those the World Has Forgotten

Inside the ashram live children whose lives have been shaped by neglect and unimaginable suffering. Eight of them are so deeply affected that they cannot understand their own actions- they eat mud, soil, even their own excrement. Many were found roaming the streets, unwashed, with long beards, unaware of the filth covering their hands or filling their pockets.

Every day comes with challenges most of us cannot imagine.

This ashram isn’t just a home. It is the last refuge for children who have never known love, safety, or dignity.
