Academic Adoption program - Sponsor the Education of a child in need

Parinaam was one of the NGOs in the urban sector to recognize that the urban poor face unique obstacles to rising out of poverty. However, despite lacking the means to consistently eat full meals, consume clean drinking water or use a toilet, India’s poor prioritize their children’s education. They perceive education as both the means and the end to building a better life. Access to good quality education however, comes at a price, and many a time, this is the reason that students from economically backward families discontinue their education and start working. This is a dangerous cycle as without education, these children have no chance of a good career or income and the cycle of poverty continues with families continuing to remain economically backward.

Parinaam’s Academic Adoption Program helps support children from very poor disadvantaged families so that they can continue their education and become economically empowered citizens of tomorrow. The program provides long term mentoring and financial support to under-privileged children until they eventually finish school.

Parinaam is academically supporting 942 children across Bangalore enabling them to break generational poverty through Education. Parinaam takes a holistic and child-centric approach to its programs which focuses on educational as well as developmental inputs. Each child will receive a health check annually as well as life skills support when needed. In addition, families will also be able to access multi-dimensional interventions that are Parinaam’s USP (e.g. financial literacy and livelihood development programs).
