AI in Hindi for Vernacular Medium Govt Schools

Damini Chopra started this initiative with one clear belief: India’s demographic dividend will only pay off if our children are prepared for the future, not the past.

As AI reshapes every industry, millions of talented children risk being left behind—not because they lack intelligence, but because they lack access, language, and confidence.

Through ARUNA INCLUSION at DCF, we are working to create a future-ready workforce by bringing AI, technology, and communication skills directly into government schools—in the language children actually understand.

This work aligns with our global and national partners including UNICEF and Intel Next, and has already being done in five government schools. The Foundation’s work has also been invited to the Rashtrapati Bhavan, and received an Orissa Nari Shakti award, affirming the credibility and urgency of this mission.

A story we cannot ignore

In one of our partner schools, we met a young girl Diya who was extraordinary at mathematics.

She could solve complex problems faster than most adults. Her teachers believed she had the mind of an engineer.

But when she reached the age where jobs and opportunities begin to matter, she was rejected—again and again.

Why?

She did not know English.

She had never used a computer.

Her “computer classes” were conducted verbally, with no screen, no keyboard, no hands-on learning.

In a world where AI and technology define opportunity, her brilliance remained invisible.

This is not one child’s story.

This is the reality for millions of children across India.

The problem we are solving

AI will unlock the jobs of the future—but only for those who can access it.

Today, most government-school children:

• Learn technology without touching a computer
• Are excluded because content is only in English
• Lack confidence, communication skills, and exposure
• Are intelligent, curious, and capable—but unsupported

Without intervention, India risks losing its greatest strength: its young minds.

Our solution: AI Labs in children’s own language

We are raising ₹9,40,000 to build AI learning labs and teacher support systems that will:

• Give 1,200 government-school children access to AI education in their own language
• Provide hands-on learning with real devices, not theoretical lectures
• Train dedicated teachers who will:
• Teach AI fundamentals
• Build basic English skills
• Strengthen communication, confidence, and problem-solving
• Create classrooms where talent is not limited by language or background

This is not just about technology.

This is about dignity, confidence, and opportunity.
