We all know that increasing the arable land has come at the cost of green cover. Rural pockets in India are fast losing native trees and local fauna. Punjab is no different. We need to act. Fast. 

Restore the green cover of Punjab by creating Mini Forests.

Currently, Punjab’s green cover is down to 3.67% against 21.71% in the country. We want to reclaim the green cover of rural Punjab. We have done that in the past by planting more than 6 lakh trees and creating 500 Mini Forests in more than 700 villages of Punjab.  

Our Mini Forests are a mega success. Through our Plant for Punjab initiative, we want to plant a billion trees in Punjab to rebuild the natural ecosystem, increase green cover and improve the water table.

We want to plant indigenous plant species selected by our team of experts. Our on-ground team along with 6000+ volunteers, Youth Club members and Village Panchayats work together to ensure successful implementation and a 90% survival rate of our saplings.  

This drive to plant 15,000 trees will generate 75 jobs for 7500 man-days under the Van Mitra scheme of the Government. The plantation drive aims to raise 15 lakh rupees.
