Amrutha Nestham children day care Center

The primary purpose of this project is to combat hunger and malnutrition among the most disadvantaged school-going children and destitute elderly persons in slum and low-income communities of Tirupati. Although government schemes such as the mid-day meal program provide partial nutritional support, significant gaps remain; particularly for breakfast and dinner.

This initiative will prioritize:

·       Children who are single-parented, orphaned, or abandoned

·       Children cared for by grandmothers or other relatives

·       Children suffering from anaemia, malnutrition, or other health issues

·       Elderly individuals neglected by their families, living alone, and suffering from health ailments

Through the Amrutha Nestham Feeding Center, we aim to provide:

·       Nutritious breakfast and dinner for school children, enabling them to attend school with energy and concentration.

·       Nutritious breakfast and lunch for elderly individuals, helping them manage their health and live with dignity.

The project builds on SIRDS’ past efforts, including the Community Food Redistribution Program, where surplus cooked food from social gatherings is collected and shared with poor families several times a month. During the COVID-19 crisis, we provided daily meals to hundreds of stranded and impoverished individuals.

Recognizing the ongoing need for sustained food security, we now seek to establish a permanent, community-based feeding center to provide consistent and reliable support to these vulnerable groups.
