Ankita's fundraiser to support 1000 under resourced students for mentoring support

I'm Ankita, a Mentor volunteer with Claylab Foundation.

Having had the opportunity to grow up spanning multiple countries as a third-culture kid, I've experienced the force that is quality education. Upon returning to India a few years ago, the awareness that a vast portion of our population isn't provided with the same opportunities impacted me. I thus chose to teach low-income students as a fellow with Teach for India to increase my understanding and exposure to the ground reality of education equity. Under-resourced communities largely lack holistic support when it comes to their children's education. I remember being a high school student having to decide the course for my college degree at only 17. Even though I had ample resources, family & friends support, counselors - the weight of that decision was heavy. And remembering that emotion, I was motivated to volunteer as a Mentor with Claylab Foundation.

Claylab provides a mentorship program through which they connect students with 1:1 mentors to help them build career awareness and life skills. The organization has been able to transform the lives of 1000+ mentor and mentee pairs.
