Story

The noble tradition of Annadaanam, selfless offering of food is a divine service that uplifts lives and nourishes both the body and spirit of those in need.

“Feed the one who is hungry, share knowledge with one who has none, think of solving the discomfort of one who lives in it, worship the one who is poor, serve him considering him to be Daridra Narayana – the God personification.”

— Sri M, Founder, The Satsang Foundation

At The Satsang Foundation, Annadaanam Seva is not merely about feeding the hungry; it is a sacred act of worship, a chance to recognize the divine in every soul we serve. It epitomizes the dignity of a simple meal offered with humility to those ravaged by hunger, helplessness, and neglect. This profound belief guides every meal we prepare and offer.

What began as an emergency response in April 2020 has now grown into a sustained movement. Through the dedication of the Satsang Seva Mission, we have distributed over 3.15 million* meals to more than 1,018,668* people across 16 states in India: Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir.

(*As of August 2026)

Our outreach has extended beyond Indian shores to Bujumbura, capital of Burundi in West Africa where a small group of volunteers are actively supporting the local community with daily meals and monthly dry ration supplies.

Our volunteers serve with a simple yet profound spirit: addressing hunger with dignity and offering every meal not as charity, but as an expression of heartfelt respect and care for those we serve.

Madhu Ki Rasoi

Madhu’s divine bounty

Nestled in the heart of Vrindavan, where devotion reigns supreme, Madhu Ki Rasoi, is a community kitchen, an initiative of The Satsang Foundation.

Launched on 3 September 2023 by Sri M, our community kitchen has served over 2.56* lakh meals, alleviating hunger and offering a beacon of hope for vulnerable communities in the twin cities of Mathura-Vrindavan.

(*As of August 2026)

Daily Sustenance: Madhu Ki Rasoi serves about 300 meals every day, bringing relief to weary travelers, pilgrims, sadhus, and the less privileged. Dedicated volunteers offer these meals through a van, ensuring that those unable to reach the annadaanam seva locations can still receive nourishing food.

Festive Feasts: Beyond daily meals, Madhu Ki Rasoi goes the extra mile. During festivals like Sri Krishna Janmashtami, it organizes grand bhandaras serving meals throughout the day, for devotees as they make their way from Janmabhoomi to Sri Banke Bihari Ji and return home after a joyous pilgrimage.
