Blackboards are an essential part of every classroom. But in many schools, they are not maintained properly, making it difficult for students to read from the board. Team Everest gets frequent requests from various schools every year to paint their school blackboards.Team Everest is going to paint 2000 blackboards which will help 1,00,000+ students to have a better blackboard and a better learning environment.Improving the condition of blackboards can help teachers to create a better learning experience in schools. We will be painting 2000 blackboards, an action which shall positively impact 1,00,000 students. The foreign currency donations raised for this campaign will be disbursed to Team Everest USA which works towards the same cause as the Indian nonprofit.

Help me support a cause close to my heart

Team Everest started its journey in August 2006 when founder Karthee Vidya completed graduation and joined his first job. He donated from his first-month salary and collected funds from 3 of his friends to raise Rs 4000 to help children in a rural school in Tamilnadu. We used the funds to buy books and uniforms for the school kids there.After working in an IT company for 8 years, he quit his high paying job in 2014 to work full time on Team Everest.What started as a small activity, has taken wings over the last 14 years. Today, Team Everest work with 40,000 children a year with help from 25,000 proud Volunteers.Scholarships, Spoken English, Digital literacy, Soft Skill classes are some of their key initiatives. Team Everest work is recognized by many organization and individuals including Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, former president of India.Some of our key recognition include:<ol><li>'Leader in Volunteer Engagement' award which is given to only 1 NGO in entire India a year.</li><li>Guidestar Transparency Key award for being transparent</li><li>The founder is selected as 'Best Person of the Year' by Puthiya Thalaimurai Magazine. This award is given to only 1 or 2 people in the entire state of Tamilnadu (India) a year.</li><li>Chennai Citizen award for Team Everest founder which is given to only 10 citizens a year.</li></ol>Our work is also appreciated by many famous newspaper and magazines like Times of India, The Hindu, Deccan Chronicle etc.
