Our need assessment shows that there are many girls/young women from rural/urban areas from the lowest economic strata dropped out from high school, abandoned/ widowed by their husbands are lead to a leak future. These young women are in dire need of some gainful employment to sustain their families.
The Balasevika Training programme trains over 40 young rural and urban underprivileged women between the age group of 16-35 years to become gainfully employed as pre-school teacher/community organizers and educators in special schools. The training provides a livelihood for girls from low economic strata to become competent care providers for children.
The project to date has trained approximately 2300 candidates. The candidates will be placed in different sectors to become financially independent. Some of them opt to work in their villages to contribute to the upliftment of their community and some are self-employed by setting up their own daycare centres for children.
