Overview

The Unifly Collective runs Junoon, a nationwide digital platform for children from under-resourced communities. The program provides a safe environment for students to create, connect, compete, and celebrate, helping them become critical and empowered problem-solvers. Our vision is to create a world where every child has a strong foundation to think, feel, dream, and drive meaningful change.

The Problem

• Rote learning is no longer enough: In a rapidly changing world, rote learning and textbook knowledge are insufficient for children to succeed
• The need for 21st-century skills: While the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 calls for a focus on creativity and critical thinking, many students are missing out on essential skills like leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving
• Lack of school resources: Most schools struggle to implement holistic learning due to a lack of resources, structured programs, and trained facilitators
• Needs assessment highlights the challenge: A needs assessment in 22 Junoon schools revealed that while 100% of schools recognize the need for 21st-century skills, only 45% have the resources to effectively integrate them

Our Journey so far

Junoon empowers students beyond academics by equipping them with 21st-century skills to think, create, and lead with confidence. We've worked with students in primary, middle, and high schools and supported them in leading club activities and liaising with the Junoon team. The Junoon curriculum planner provides schools with weekly themes and creative prompts, reflection tools, and project documentation formats, requiring no extra prep9. Students use a design thinking approach to identify local challenges and lead action projects10. They also learn to amplify their voices using digital media tools like zines and podcasts.

Our Growth Plan: A Holistic Approach to Learning

We want to expand the Junoon movement and create a world where every child has a strong foundation to think, feel, dream, and drive meaningful change. We aim to continue partnering with schools to cultivate a strong culture of co-curricular excellence. We work at two levels:

• Skill Development: We help students acquire essential 21st-century skills like critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and confidence

• Creative Expression: We provide opportunities for students to explore and showcase their talents in various art forms

• Leadership and Innovation: The program encourages entrepreneurial thinking and problem-solving abilities
