<p>Nakshatra is Bhumi’s annual national talent festival in arts and sports for children from orphanages. Over 7,000 children are expected to participate this year. To provide a platform for the children to ‘Dream’, exhibit their talents, get competitive exposure, ‘Discover’ their potential, ‘Dazzle’ in an atmosphere of healthy competition and enrich themselves with much needed perspective about their inherent potentials. To improve the self confidence of children, contribute to their holistic development through promotion of extra-curricular activities.</p><p>Join in me in my special campaign for special people where I am asking you all to contribute whatever you can and encourage others to do the same. Together, we can make the world a better place for the underprivileged and help them lead a better life.</p>

Help me raise money for a cause I care for

Bhumi is one of India’s largest volunteer based organisations working to educate underprivileged children.
Around 7 million children in India don’t attend school with the majority born into disadvantaged families. This is why we are implementing various projects to help these children across five Indian states.
All our volunteers are working professionals under the age of 30 and go through mandatory orientation. They teach and mentor children living in slums, orphanages, and village community centres.
Aside from teaching various subjects, Bhumi also aims to improve children’s confidence with newly acquired communication skills. Our annual festival, Nakshatra, where hundreds of children from different orphanages enjoy learning and participating in various competitions, has been a runaway success, providing children from disadvantaged backgrounds with an opportunity to improve their self-confidence and develop their talents and hobbies.
From a humble group of six volunteers, Bhumi is now a team of 800, reaching out to over 8,000 children in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, New Delhi, and Rajasthan.
