Bestow a year of education upon a poor child

Education is a liberating step towards a persons empowerment. But for children from disadvantaged rural communities in Sagroli, Maharashtra, education is a privilege which is reserved for very few.

These children not only need schools and infrastructural facilities but they also need financial assistance to afford them. Most either never attend school or drop out at an early age because there are no resources or peer counselling.

Our organisation runs a residential school where children from disadvantaged backgrounds receive free education, hostel facilities, meals, and educational supplies. Workshops and extra-curricular activities are also organised from time to time to promote personality development.

Once they complete their education, they are counselled to make intelligent career choices and are supported financially to complete their higher studies. The process we follow is such that any child who is brought to us is supported not just to complete school but also to become self-reliant.

At present, almost 4,000 rural children study and live at our residential school. Most students who have completed their education with us previously are now placed in well-meaning jobs. Every donation of Rs. 3,000 takes care of all the expenses for one child at our school for a year.
