Help me raise money to provide education to a young poor girl

Sevalaya, a 26 year old organization, is a registered charitable trust, was founded in 1988. Inspired by the teachings of Mahakavi Bharathiar, Mahatma Gandhi and Swami Vivekananda, the vision of Sevalaya is to work towards upliftment of poor, empowerment of women and care for the downtrodden.

The organization took one major tenet from each of the three inspirations – referred to as “BGV” in Sevalaya parlance:

• Educating the poor, from Mahakavi Bharathiar

• Village Development from Gandhiji

• Feeding the Hungry from Swami Vivekananda

Of the multifold activities, the key of Sevalaya's Mahakavi Bharathiar Higher Secondary School, providing free education from LKG up to 12th Standard. The School is recognized by the Tamil Nadu education board, but without any grant. Like all other services of Sevalaya, the school also offers free education, two sets of uniform, educational tools, stationery for the children.

Sevalaya's school serves about 40 villages surrounding its centre. Over 26 years ago, when Sevalaya ‘s school started, the village population consisting of farm labourers and brick kiln workers was sending the children to work, not to school. Even among a few who could get education up to basic level, females were excluded.

Now the position is that child labour is almost completely eradicated in this area. 2000 children attend Sevalaya ‘s school, approximately half of them are girls.
