Meet Vikansh

Vikansh is a brave 5-year-old boy who has never experienced the simple joy of eating solid food. Since birth, he has been battling a rare and painful condition called Anastomotic Stricture, severely affecting his oesophagus (food pipe). Despite undergoing two major surgeries, both attempts were unsuccessful. Vikansh’s third surgery was initially scheduled for February 2025, but due to his low weight, the operation had to be postponed. The new surgery date is set for May 2025, where doctors will attempt to create a functioning food pipe. This surgery is his only chance to live a normal life.

Endless Struggles of a Young Life

Vikansh requires RG Dilation every 25 to 30 days, costing Rs 25,400 per session. This treatment is crucial; without it, food leaks into his lungs, causing life-threatening infections like pneumonia. The constant risk and recurring medical emergencies have made life incredibly challenging for this young boy and his family.

Surviving solely on a liquid diet, Vikansh often watches other children enjoy food and asks his parents, “When will I be able to eat like them?” His innocence and courage inspire everyone, but his condition continues to strain his health.

A Father’s Heartbreaking Struggle

When we spoke to Akash, Vikansh’s father, he shared his emotional journey. Earning just Rs 9,000 to Rs 10,000 per month, he struggles to manage the overwhelming medical expenses. With Vikansh entirely dependent on a liquid diet, just his milk costs around ₹7,000 per month. With tears in his eyes, Akash expressed how difficult it is to see his son suffer. Despite sacrificing everything, the family cannot manage the medical costs on their own.

Despite their determination, they cannot arrange the ₹7,50,000 needed for Vikansh’s surgery and ongoing treatment. They need your help.
