Bringing Lakes Back to Life
Story
Deep in the Western Ghats, Katinajaddu Kere in Heggodu Gram Panchayat, Survey No. 33, is more than just a waterbody—it is part of the landscape that sustains people, farms, wildlife, and biodiversity.
Over time, silt and neglect have reduced the lake’s ability to hold and support life. SARA is working towards its desilting and rejuvenation, helping restore its water-holding capacity and ecological function.
This is not our first lake. We have already revived 19 lakes, bringing back water, biodiversity, and community spaces.
Now, we want to do more.
