Capacitating rural cottage hospital into 24*7 emergency/trauma medical unit

To convert our village cottage hospital into a 24x7 hospital, we require a living unit for resident doctors and paramedical staff. We also need to construct a ramp that connects the hospital to the road, making it accessible for wheelchairs and medical/ambulance stretchers.

To make this possible we need to construct the following structures:

• A modest accommodation facility in an area of around 1500 square feet inside our premises which will include two living quarters for doctors and two dormitories for paramedical staff. The construction cost will be around INR 32 lacs ($ 42870 approx.).
• Construction of a ramp to make our cottage hospital accessible for wheel-chair users and transfer of trauma/critical patients. The construction cost will be around INR 5 lacs ($ 6700 approx.).

Once this construction is complete and we are able to house resident doctors and paramedical staff within the premises, a 24x7 hospital, catering to emergency and trauma patients at any given time will be possible. Currently, any emergency or trauma patients from the villages served by Aarohi, have to travel in the mountain terrain anytime between 1-5 hours to reach the nearest trauma/emergency medical center, outside business hours. Also, the lack of a ramp makes it extremely difficult for trauma and differently-abled patients to access our hospital.
