CapEx Support for Shrimad Rajchandra Women Empowerment Programme

Under Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care’s 10 care programme, the Women Care initiative aims to uplift the status of underprivileged women by providing adequate medical facilities, opportunities for education and undertaking activities to make them self-reliant. The programme presented here is Empowering through Employment and Skill Training. After 10 successful years of women's skill training and employment, this initiative has taken the form of Raj Uphaar, a powerhouse of 135 dedicated tribal women producing more than 100 unique products including snacks, desserts and utility products for home use. They are being trained to manage the product manufacturing, marketing, packaging as well as distribution process. The proposal seeks funding for the purchase of machinery worth INR 5 lakhs for the enhancement of the Women Empowerment Programme - Rajuphaar.

The current Shrimad Rajchandra Skill Development Centre can house around 135 women. This Initiative started with 35 women and has now expanded into a strength of 135. The new project envisages employing about 700 women over a period of 2-3 years through the new facility. 

There is a great need for sustainable livelihood project owing to the fact that large number of families living under poverty line in the project area. Raj Uphaar project is unique community development initiative and scalable model. The current proposal is requesting capex funding for purchase of equipment to scale up production lines of Raj Uphaar units under the Women Empowerment Programme. We have identified critical equipment; tools and their approximate market price are listed in the budget. The project aims to impact more women by increasing the output of Raj Uphaar Centre and providing them with income opportunities and financial stability. The vision is to empower each and every woman in this tribal belt which will impact the lives of the families as well.
