Mahila Arthik, Sanskritik Evam Shaikshik Vikas Sansthan (MASS) is a grassroots non-governmental organization established in 1987 in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, working towards the holistic empowerment of marginalized communities. Rooted in a legacy that began in 1981 with non-formal education for underprivileged children, MASS focuses especially on women, children, the elderly, and socio-economically weaker sections.The organization works to promote economic self-reliance, education, social justice, and human dignity through a wide range of development interventions. Its key functions include education and bridge schooling for marginalized children, vocational and livelihood training for women, formation and strengthening of Self-Help Groups, and skill development programs linked to sustainable employment. MASS also provides support services for women facing violence, including shelter, counseling, legal aid, and rehabilitation, and actively engages in advocacy for gender equality and human rights.In addition, MASS operates a free old age home for abandoned senior citizens and implements community-based programs in health, child protection, and social awareness. Through its people-centered and participatory approach, MASS continues to build an inclusive, just, and self-reliant society where vulnerable populations can live with dignity and equal opportunity
