India has a Demographic Dividend with about 2 out of 3 of its population being under 35 years of age. This can boost India’s economy in a substantial manner if the youth can find productive employment. But the tragedy is that over 54% of its educated youth is unemployable and about 15% of those employed are under-employed (source India Skills Report 2021). Of the 36 million graduates that come out of universities every year, a large percentage can easily be absorbed in the services sector if they have some basic skills. Most of the government-run universities and colleges do not teach skills as part of the curriculum. Simple skills like effective communication and the ability to solve problems or handle job interviews can make a difference in the job prospects of these youth. This results in a large population of graduates being unemployed and a burden on society.

Career Connect Training: The unique design of the program bridges the gap between academic training and industry requirements, & also facilitates the holistic development of skills and attitudes in students. The goal of the curriculum is to build confidence in students such that they have the requisite knowledge, skills and mindset to start a career in the corporate or government sector. At the end of the program, the Yuvajaya team helps the students with placement in the corporate sector by handholding them and providing accommodation and support when they visit big cities for their placement.

We skill the educated / graduate youth so that they start their Career in the service sector. This leads to three distinct changes.

• The entire family comes out of poverty for good.

• The young girls, who form the majority of our beneficiaries, are able to be financially independent and make decisions about their own lives. This has a cascading impact on their own families as they project their confidence into the next generation as well.

• These employed youngsters become role models and inspire others in their community to dream big and aim for big jobs.
