The whole early childhood suffers because children's lives in the unhealthy condition.
Story of Ajay who left the school to cuts sugar cane early in the morning……….
It’s a November-December month last year heavy winter is in the Kolhapur district .one of our learning center 14 years boy ‘Ajay’ came to the center at 3.00 pm o clock, and asked aunty for meal. He returns from field with hungry and tired because of 12 hours cane cutting and continues working in the farm
I asked him why are you late, meal is over meal gaddi is gone. He was nervously going back to the hut, I stopped and gave him some snacks from the center,
Ajay said I went to cut sugarcane with my mother and father early morning at 3:00 am in the morning, my father was still in the farm I came forward in a tractor with other people. I love to learn, read draw, but I can not come to the learning center, because we need to go cut sugarcane.
Like, “Ajay” there are many more children of sugar cane cutters who wake up early morning, goes to the farm and returns in the evening. This schedule is going on whole season.
After few days learning curiosity will down and Ajay maybe will draw up out from primary education.
After all we talked to Ajay parents Insisted them to send Ajay to the center, importance of Education, “Right to education act”.
But again, we cannot claim to parents the situation which they do need to do like this. Still parent is not agreed to send the center.
Because of heavy winter we have distributed sweater to the children. That sweater realizes Ajay that the way we Jidnyasa is taking care of children’s, various activities we have been conducted that touches to the Ajay. We brainstorm to Ajay also after couple days all family member agreed to importance of Education. Ajay is now regular in school.
But the continuity in the learning environment is necessary ……………
We are trying it, working on it.
