Seva Bharathi is a non-government organization established in 2004 based in Kanyady II, Belthngady, that’s transforming the lives and livelihood of neglected sectors of the society. We run the extensive program in 6 districts of Karnataka(Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Hasan, Chikamagaluru, Kodagu, Kasaragodu) to enable and empower people with spinal cord injury and rural women.“Sevabharathi” is actively engaged in social work and community services during the last 16 years in the field of health, education, and empowerment of rural women by self-employment and rehabilitation of persons affected with spinal cord injury. Our community service activities have received wider acceptance and are appreciated by the people at large.Shri K Vinayaka Rao himself a victim of spinal cord injury is the founder of Seva Bharathi had a dream to contribute towards his disability sector so started a new project “Sevadhama” in 2018 which is a rehabilitation centre for people with spinal cord injury. Sevadhama is a unit of Sevabharathi, at Sauthadka is started with the technical support and initial financial support of APD Bangalore. Sevadhama is the 4th unique centre in Karnataka working towards rehabilitation of persons with spinal cord injury which can accommodate 10 persons at a time and we are able to extend our service to about 40 persons per year. We have identified about 292 persons with spinal cord injury (PWSCI)), most of them are farmworkers and presently bedridden and looking for rehabilitation from charity organizations and we have already rehabilitated more than 78 PWSCI. Our project “Arogyam” focus on the health sector by conducting Blood donation camps in various taluk and arrangement of blood in case of emergency, providing ambulance services on concessional fare, free health checkup camps to make a better and healthy Society.“Saabalini” is to support rural women and empower them by providing free tailoring camp, health checkup camps, health awareness programmers, honouring women who contributed to the society which Motivates and build confidence with them also focus on helping them to be self-employed by providing required Training. To date, we have impacted 600+ rural women.We have been honoured by Kannada Rajyotsava District Award in 2019, Uthishta Seva Puraskara State Award in 2020 for continuous social service. And our President has been honoured by Swastika Friends Club Punjalkatte, Lokanadu Friends Kanyady, Responsible and Active Citizen by Indian Senior Chamber in 2020 and Rotary Club Belthangady for his committed and continuous social service. We are happy that Sri Sauthadka Maha Ganapathy Seva Trust has provided free accommodation for 3 years to set up Rehabilitation Centre and we have M/S. ACE Manufacturing Systems Pvt Ltd, Bangalore, M/S. Toyoda Gosei South India Pvt Ltd, Bangalore, M/S. LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation Mumbai and M/S. Chem-Trend Chemicals Pvt Ltd, Bangalore as our major donorsAs a private, non-profit rehabilitation service provider, Sevabharathi relies on donations to maintain its excellence in rendering social service to achieve the best possible outcomes. Charitable gifts are directed to rehabilitation activities or other specific needs at a donor’s directions. The donations to Trust are eligible for tax concessions under Sec 80 G.
