Coding For GIRLS

According to UNICEF, gender norms, negative stereotypes, social barriers, and gender digital divide continue to hold girls back from realising their potential. Limited opportunities and expectations of girls’ skills and performance in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and digital literacy, and a lack of role models become critical barriers for girls to develop the skills they need. Gender socialization and norms lead to girls’ decreased perceptions of their own skills and self-efficacy resulting in a large proportion of adolescent girls dropping out of training and education every year, and not obtaining skills such as innovative and critical thinking, problem solving and entrepreneurship, critical to succeed in 21st century jobs.

In Academic Session 2023-24 IN-DEED Foundation plans to implement following skilling programs in government schools of West Rajasthan:

Ø Coding for Girls

o  Training on Coding to 500 girl students – by expert partner organization Tinkerly, a startup of IITians

Ø Digital skills

o  Practical computer training and digital assessments.

Ø For the first time 500 girl students from government schools in West Rajasthan will be trained in Coding.

Ø Students will also become proficient in practical computer skills, learning MS office and valuable digital skills.

Ø Digital assessments on curriculum subjects will further help polish their skills.
