Contribute towards oral-aural rehabilitation of hearing impaired kids

Two deaf are born in every 1000 birth in India. Dumbness is secondary disability hence hampering mainstream education. In a resource crunched country like ours, there is an immediate need for Oral-aural rehabilitation of early age hearing impaired, general school’s readiness with parents partnership, creating opportunities for social, emotional, cognitive and overall development of the young deaf.

We conduct all relevant activities for the oral-aural rehabilitation of young age hearing impaired child, and parents are taught to deal the problem of their child by involving them in to daily activity. Parent counselling, guidance and training, social awareness program, AVT therapy, speech- hearing- language training, pre-schooling, primary schooling, general school readiness and integration, health check-up, workshops, seminars, parents get-together, educational tour, picnic, festival celebrations, visits of social worker etc. for over all development of hearing impaired child . The rationale behind this is to enable them to have equal opportunities in the main stream of society.

Since Last 7 years, we are constantly taking efforts for general school integration of hearing impaired child. This year 25 Hearing Impaired students are enrolled in BALVIKAS SPECIAL SCHOOL and 18 kids are supported at BALVIKAS KENDRA (language-speech-hearing training and parent training & guidance program), About 400 families have been counselled and guided to support their special child. Till now, 50 Hearing impaired kids have been mainstreamed into general school. Support us in empowering these kids.
