Story
India is reeling under an unprecedented health emergency with the continuing surge in the number of COVID-19 cases and related deaths.
The total number of COVID-19 cases in India stood at 18,368,096 and the death toll was 204,812 on 28th April -2021, with the day count crossing 360,000 cases.
World Vision India’s response will mainly focus on
· Strengthening health care systems
· Providing psycho-social support through trained community volunteers
· Creating awareness around vaccination, making it accessible to all and enabling them to avail it
· Strengthening community preparedness to deal with the surge of COVID-19
1)providing oxygen concentrators at the block and district level to 93 health care centres/ hospitals; this can be scaled up to 150 facilities.
2)providing beds, tents, temporary structures and helping the Government set up COVID care centres (could be doubled as vaccination centres in the future) within the primary health centre and district hospital premises.
