Covid Critical Care Centre

Amidst the current monster wave of Covid19 spreading across rural India, the existing critical care facilities of Paschim Medinipur district are woefully inadequate to deal with any surge of Covid affected patients needing critical care support. The District Administration of Paschim Medinipur and Health Department officials of the Government of West Bengal have requested St. Joseph’s Hospital to activate Covid facilities on emergency basis to pre-empt loss of life.

To operationalize on war footing this facility critical care centre with ICU and high dependency facilities to prevent loss of lives and supplement the efforts of the government infrastructure. The centre will have a 6 bed ICU, 14 oxygen beds and a 20 bed step down ward.

Through this critical intervention, we expect to provide life saving covid treatment to more than 3000 patients over the next 12 months and prevent loss of life in all preventable cases.
