Team Everest runs free evening study centers in 9 villages in Tiruvannamalai Dt, Tamilnadu (150Kms from Chennai).
600 Students are a part of these study centers. Parents of most of these students are from economically challenged background with many of them working for daily wages in fields, Brick kilns and weaving.
The covid pandemic and the resulting lockdown has affected many families in these rural areas. As per our survey, at least 50% of them were badly affected because of the pandemic and have lost jobs, salary for one or more months or have taken a cut in their salary.
Covid - Livelihood Relief project is aimed at providing a small financial support of Rs 5000 to such families so that they overcome the current economic crisis and manage their livelihood.
