As India continues fighting the global pandemic, the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre is working tirelessly 24X7 in taking care of the huge wave of COVID patients. Just before the second wave, we were treating about 20-30 covid patients per day but with an emerging second wave, we are now treating 160-180 covid patients per day. In the past fortnight, the hospital was on the brink twice due to the low availability of medical oxygen for COVID patients. The team of doctors and supporting staff at ISIC are selflessly providing medical attention, despite themselves getting infected in the process and often going beyond their capacity. The immediate requirement for COVID Oxygen Cafe & FIRST AID CENTRE

As per the Epidemiologist , the pandemic is likely to continue for another year or so. In such circumstances, there is an immediate requirement to augment COVID Oxygen Cafe & FIRST AID CENTRE. As the pandemic peak decreases, the infected people would basically need to be stabilized and the most recommended and preferred treatment plan to manage covid patients would comprise of oxygen support with proper medication.

People who don’t get beds anywhere may temporarily be stabilized here. The advantage of starting it here would be that in addition to Oxygen, we could start with medical treatment as needed to stabilize them. Beds, Oxygen/concentrators, medications, human resource including volunteers will available in COVID Oxygen Cafe & FIRST AID CENTRE to extend our medical services.
