The second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic has created a dark and desperate situation across India. The rural villages where we work are characterized by a lack of access to resources and care, leaving them particularly vulnerable to the rapidly spreading crisis. Our Community Health Entrepreneurs are crucial nodal points from which knowledge, best practices and emergency aid can be distributed.
Across 1,000 villages of UP, Bihar and Jharkhand, Healing Fields has launched a program to bridge this gap in resources and build capacity within the villages to respond. This program includes
- Activating resilient village level committees
- Leading awareness campaigns for prevention, vaccine, treatment, and home care
- Building a tele-consulting network for Covid-19 relief
- Training CHEs as tele-counselors to alleviate the mental health toll
- Creating village-level quarantine centers
- Distributing emergency aid like rations and medication
Our CHEs will be village level leaders for these initiatives, bringing them to their community members and ensuring access in the last mile. Please support them if you are able.
