Covid-19: Empowering Rural Healthcare Facilities of Tamil Nadu

Frontline workers of Tamil Nadu have been working tirelessly during the current drastic second wave of Covid-19. However, while healthcare systems in cities hold on by a thread, the rural areas of Tamil Nadu need our immediate attention. 

According to media reports, scores of villagers who were street vendors at the epicenter of Chennai’s markets, have now returned to their native villages due to the lack of a steady income. This has triggered a surge in cases through the rural pockets of Tamil Nadu. 

United Way Chennai has been on the forefront of the Covid crisis in TN and we need your support to keep the torch of hope during this crisis lit. Rural Tamil Nadu urgently requires medical supplies to provide immediate relief to its people, who are currently falling short of the most basic supplies to begin with.
