COVID-19 RESPONSE

The key drivers (Poverty, Gender inequality, Unemployment) for Trafficking; Child marriages and lack of health and hygiene had unprecedented rise during Covid-19, additionally, movement restrictions and multiple barriers (language, technology etc.) and reduced response services (helplines, police &, legal services) have increased vulnerability amongst individuals and communities who were already at risk and those who were previously not. Without sufficient access to social security systems & institutional supports, they are less equipped to navigate these challenges.

Jabala Action Research Organisation wishes to support the beneficiaries and their families as they respond to and recover from the Covid-19 crisis. As the situation on the ground is changing rapidly, we are seeking support to carry on relief operations among the beneficiaries in the following areas with a primary goal to ensure the adolescent and young women are not adversely affected by this pandemic

The Proposed initiative intends to build up on the progress so far achieved and lesson learnt from previous efforts to spread it among other girls, survivors and community members in newer areas to increase the gamut of Relief measures and awareness on protection; and sync it with the multisectoral linkage buildings.

Strengthening Direct Service assistance to identified 1000 adolescents girls, Survivors of violence that includes, food, health and hygiene etc.

Increased efforts on menstrual hygiene awareness and maximise reach of sanitary napkins amongst 1000 girls in the target areas.

Facilitate access to education and reduction of drop outs among 500 adolescent girls
