COVID-19 Sanitary Napkin Relief

Aarogya Seva is striving to combat growing public health risks and improve access to healthcare for communities in India as a result of COVID-19. Specifically, the current climate poses challenges for marginalized women to gain access to feminine hygiene products and many NGOs and community members are expressing the need for these resources in their communities.

At just INR 300, you can help us deliver environmentally safe , hygienic pads that will sustain one women or girl for a minimum of 6 months.

DONATE FOR BANGALORE: 

In Bangalore, Aarogya Seva, in collaboration with Pad Squad, will be procuring resources to distribute economical biodegradable pads to 1000+ girls and women in slums in Varthur (420), Gunjur (150) Lingarajapuram (300) and Jevanahalli (150). We are committed to ensuring these women ( most of them construction workers or those who don’t have the means to afford expensive pads) and girls do not have to worry about menstrual hygiene and can avoid UTIs and other health issues. During distribution, the Padssquad team also educates these women on menstrual health and hygiene and connects them to helpline numbers to access gynaecologists absolutely free.

Since May, 2020 Aarogya Seva has distributed sanitary napkins to over 10,000 women in collaboration with partnering NGOs in and outside of Bangalore as part of our COVID-19 relief efforts.

PAD SQUAD STORY…. A PEOPLE’S MOVEMENT.

Pad Squad is a people’s movement across India, that enables an individual to take personal social responsibility and action to get & distribute sanitary pads to economically disadvantaged women within their locality, town or city. It is committed to preserving the dignity and health of menstruating women & girls.

Covid-19 made basic essentials like Food scarce for the most fragile and vulnerable people / communities of society, and Sanitary Pads a huge luxury for these people. Pad Squad started on June 1st 2020, with a calling, that this need of menstrual hygiene must be addressed. Our Philosophy is that Women must be provided for and kept strong, as they keep families strong. Pad Squad directly reaches the people in the Bastis, through the Ghar Bachao Ghar Banao Andolan, and other volunteering collaborating networks across India that work directly with the communities. Currently, Pad Squad is in 23 cities, with 51 Pad Squadders, who are providing Pads to approx. 50 communities and growing everyday. Pad Squad has been making constructive and successful efforts in distributing Biodegradable Pads and will continue to champion Going Green.
