Cerebral palsy is a condition that makes it hard for kids to move and balance. Sadly, many parents face the tough reality of watching their child struggle with this. These kids need help with everything and parents often worry about what the future holds for them. There's no cure, but treatments can make things a bit better.

In remote areas of Kerala, many kids from poor families are dealing with cerebral palsy. This makes it difficult for them to move around easily and enjoy simple activities like running and playing. Without much physical activity, their muscles and bones may not work well, affecting their overall health.

Because of these challenges, these kids need a lot of help and their moms end up leaving their jobs to take care of them. This makes it difficult for the family to have enough money. Not having enough money brings stress to the family and stops them from getting the necessary help for kids with cerebral palsy.

Taking care of a child with cerebral palsy is hard. Moms have to lift and carry their children for activities like bathing, going to the toilet and eating. Doing this all the time makes their bodies tired and causes never-ending pain. So, taking care of their children with cerebral palsy makes the poor mothers' lives harder and sadder.

Children with cerebral palsy need special supporting aids like CP wheelchairs. These wheelchairs help them move around by themselves, going wherever they want, whenever they want. Having this control makes them feel good about themselves and helps them be more independent. It also means they don't have to rely on others as much.Top of Form

The specialty of CP wheelchairs is that they have parts like cushions, headrests, high backs, and belts. These special parts help children with cerebral palsy sit comfortably and safely. This helps avoid any harm to their posture and keeps them in a good position. But, not all kids have these wheelchairs because they cost a lot of money. Without a CP wheelchair, it's really tough for them to live a regular life. They cannot go outside, make friends or be part of the community like other kids. So, these wheelchairs are important for them to do things on their own and be more like other children.

Kottayam Social Service Society (KSSS) helps children and grown-ups with cerebral palsy and their families. Through this project, KSSS aims to make life a bit easier for these families by providing the much-needed CP wheelchairs for 40 children with cerebral palsy in Kottayam district of Kerala. These children are between 6 to 15 years old who cannot walk independently and come from poor families who struggle to cover their needs.

Giving assistive devices like CP wheel chairs will help these children to engage in social activities, attend school, access public spaces and enjoy a higher level of independence. It makes them feel important, like they could do anything. These magical wheelchairs not only bring smiles to the children's faces but also make their mothers very happy. The kids will be able to explore, make friends and be happier overall.

The CP wheelchairs are not just helpful; they are also easy to use. They are light, can be folded up and carried around easily. Each one costs Rs. 15,500, but the joy and independence they bring to these children and their moms are priceless.
