“Creating an enabling and inclusive environment for Children with Disability (CwD)”

These children require special attention, care and support which can be rendered only through trained professionals. Parents also require training in this regard to provide the required care and support to these children. Since they do not have such skills the parents are looking forward to the institutions that could meet this dire need of them. Unfortunately, we do not have many such institutions in our country to provide care and support for these children with special needs. 

1.     Inception of the project with the restructuring of the School by hiring more human resources, conducting refresher training and facilitating transportation facilities.

2.     Therapy Services at School: Clinical assessment has been conducted for all CwDs and Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRPs) have also been developed. Based on that, treatments like Speech therapy, Occupational therapy, Behavioral medicine (BM) and Adaptive Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy are being provided.

Sensory Integration Therapy and Physiotherapy are being outsourced.

3.     Special Education: The school is providing education appropriate to the needs of the individual children with basic skills training.

4.     Sports and vocational training are being provided in the school for the physical and occupational development of the students.

5.     Monthly Parents meetings, 4 workshops each for parents and students in a year and an excursion for students have been planned in the school.

6.     Events and competitions, health camps, extra curriculum activities and celebrations of special days & festivals are part of the program activities.

•        Children with Disability have access to the Service needed.

•        Improved quality of life of beneficiaries and their family.

•        Positive and significant impact on the health, livelihood, social participation and empowerment of participants with disabilities and their families.
