Story

Most of the children with disabilities are left out without providing any intervention to them due to financial crises as they require intense support from different professionals regularly. People from middle class and financially backward classes may not be able to opt for those services and most of them feel that they are burden to their family and also to the society and are house arrested. If any organizations which are supportive and provide the basket of intervention services to make them independent, it reduces the burden of the parents. To run this programme successfully requires man power and support from different professionals which requires significant financial involvement.

  • When the child brought to the institute they are assessed by using different tools to know the functional skills in terms of cognition, speech, language, motor skills, communication skills and functional academic skills. Accordingly, they are grouped for academic sessions. Each class have special educators who teach them the academic concepts and students who require other intervention services are scheduled accordingly (speech therapy, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, yoga and vocational training). Classroom activities are given such as sorting, pasting, curricular and co-curricular activities to develop them.
  • Children with intellectual disabilities are identified, assessed and intervened according to their functional skills (academic, physiotherapists, speech therapy, occupational therapy and vocational training). Students have grouped academically and scheduled for other therapy sessions. 160 students with intellectual disability and associated disabilities belong to the Telangana state.
  • 75- Boarders, 85-day scholars attend the school and school timings are from 9.30 to 3.30, School buses pick up the day scholars from their houses. Boarders wake up at 5.30 and complete their morning core activities with help of caregivers by 9.30 a.m. and they come down with the caregivers. At 3.30 day scholars will be dropped back to their homes. Boarders will get freshen up by the caregivers and they are served the snacks. Free time is from 4.30 to 6.30. Some children watch T.V and some play in the playground, under Caregivers' supervision. They go up to their concerning rooms and prepared for dinner and then they will be brought to dinner and at the same time children will be given medication according to the need. By 9’o clock, they will go to bed and caregivers keep watching them intermittently at the nights.
  • These children will improve in communication, nueromotor and social skills with regular training by professionals.
  • After the intense vocational training classes, beneficiaries are able to work in different work places.
  • Bollant industries, IDA NACHARAM, HYDERABAD recruited four of our students. They are able to work and earning 6000/-RS per month.
  • Two students who are working in socks manufacturing company and earning 4500 per month.
  • Beneficiary Mr. Chirag who is working in the leaf company since 4 years and saved his salary and donated the money to the family at Maternity hospital, sultan bazar. He is also a good singer and participates in the events and gets good remuneration.
  • Mr. Vikram is running his Xerox and stationery shop at Hyderabad and living financially independent.
  • Mr. Vishnu vallabh is having mild autistic features and now is working in a hospital as a desk assistant.
