Donate a ration kit for under previlaged family facing lockdown hunger

The COVID-19 pandemic is raging across the country and continues to loom large over us. The Government of India and the various State governments have taken decisions to combat the situation by imposing lockdowns at various hotspots spanning the entire nation.

Delhi which is facing a severe crisis has handled the situation in multifold ways such as increasing the number of RT-PCR tests, involving more mobile labs for testing and increasing the number of ICU and oxygen beds. At this great hour of need, The Tare Zameen Foundation has stepped in to provide relief by providing food items to various underprivileged families residing in its communities in South Delhi area near Shanti Colony.

By adhering to all safety and hygiene measures, Tare Zameen Foundation has begun its relief service by providing Covid Relief Kits comprising of raw food items and sanitary products to this marginalised and low-income segment of the society comprising of daily wage workers, migrant labourers, construction site workers, and needy old age people. Each of the Covid Relief Kits comprises of food items such as Sugar, Rice Chidwa, Dal, Refined Oil and Sanitary items including Sanitary Napkins, Face Masks, Hand sanitisr and Hand wash bottles.

Tare Zameen Foundation is Non-profit organization based in Delhi working in the sector of health, education and environment. We work for the upliftment of child rights, promotion of education, health and wellbeing. The approach is to work as a catalyst of change to bring sustainable change in the lives of underprivileged children, young people, women and downtrodden population. Current flagship Programs of the TZF include

1.   Early Education Module which is a basic level program committed to providing basic education to underprivileged children between 3 and 6 years

2.   Sakha deals with the permanent change of menstrual hygiene habits of Adolescent Girls and Women of Reproductive age by education and awareness programs and free distribution of Sanitary Napkins

3.   Health Camps for screening of various ailments related to Breast Cancer, Gynecological screening, Dental and eye health programs

●    Providing Covid Relief Kits to underprivileged families to ensure that these people don’t go hungry during this pandemic for atleast 2 months

●    Providing masks, hand sanitizers and hand wash products for maintaining hygiene as per the definition of Covid appropriate behaviour.

●    Providing sanitary napkins, which would be help women continue the menstrual hygiene practices during the lockdown period and thereby stay healthy.
