Only 36 Percent Of The Women In India Use Sanitary Pads During Periods. When a girl faces challenges in managing her period in a healthy manner, it can cause a number of problems to her physical as well as mental health. Not only will she be at risk of infection, but her education, self-esteem, and confidence also suffer in a major way. Also, conventional sanitary pads and tampons available in the market are loaded with plastic. These menstrual products are used for at least 4-6 days per month by most women worldwide. This means a huge amount of plastic waste is generated every month globally.

The Hygiene Kit Distribution is a simple idea and within this simplicity lies its inherent brilliance. The initiative aims to become a bridge, between donors, volunteers and those in need. Donors can donate and we'll make sure, it reaches those in need for the same. Our team will visit slums/ remote areas to educate women on the issue and how to deal with it. We are aiming at menstrual health that needs to be addressed through social and behavioural change programs.

The primary objective is to educate hygiene and distribute kits. And then identify women’s groups interested in becoming microentrepreneurs, and provide training and in some cases assistance in financing the purchase of the machine. Women’s groups:

• purchase the machines
• organize the production process
• purchase raw materials
• share knowledge about menstrual hygiene
• engage in word-of-mouth advertisement, and
• sell pads door to door, from home, or back to the machine vendor for sale to consumers.

Although this model requires a large upfront investment, it generates a constant revenue stream for rural women.
