Donate Text Books and Tablet for a Rural Poor Child for on-line learning

Due to continuous and severe spread of Corona Virus, the schools and colleges reopening dates for the academic year 2020-2021 is not yet  announced by the State and Central Governments. The lock down announced by the Governments in March 2020  is continuing and the people in the rural areas are suffering very much for their basic needs. The Government of Tamil Nadu has planned to conduct classes for the children of Government schools through Government and Private TV Channels from 1st August 2020. The private schools in urban areas have already started on-line classes about two months back. But the private schools in rural areas are suffering very much to conduct on- line classes.  Because 80% of the rural children are from poor families and their parents do not have smart phones. It is an urgent need to provide text books  and tablets to enable the rural children to attend the on-line classes. The corona virus is spreading in rural areas and it will take many months to come to the normal situation. Hence it is planned to provide text books and tablets for 272  poor students of a rural school Sita Rajaram Public School functioning  at Muthu Nagar, Hiraniyamangalam Mettupatti, Kulithalai Taluk, Karur District, Tamil Nadu. The total strength of the school is 340 students. Out of them 20% of the children are having smart phones.

CARD is already working with Sita Rajaram Public School for the past five years. CARD has constructed two toilet blocks for the benefit of boys and girls of this school.. In order to enable 272 poor children of  a rural school   to attend the on-line classes along with other children , it is proposed to provide text books and  tablets for 272 children of Sita Rajaram Public School. The cost of  text books is Rs.1000/- and the cost of each tablet is Rs.4000/-. 

The provision of text books will. reduce the burden of poor parents during the COVID -19 crisis.

The provision of tablets will help the poor children to attend on-line classes along with other students of the school.

The rural poor children will be able to attend classes during the COVID -19 crisis.
