For children from families facing financial hardships, going to a preschool is only a dream at such an early stage of their lives. Children from age 3.5 to 5.5 years cannot go to formal early childhood education since preschools do not exist in government schools, and private preschools are so much more expensive.

Some pre-primary schooling happens in Anganwadi, but a more structured approach can help the kids better prepare for Class 1 and above.

Avasar Foundation has set up 5 pre-primary schools for children facing financial hardships at a government primary school in Seegehalli, Bangalore. The second and third schools are getting ready now in Bangalore and Gurgaon. Sixth unit opens in Bangalore this AY 2023-24 onwards.

We have now completed five years of preprimary schooling of over 1000 Kids in 5 such schools across India, and their transformation is almost complete now. They can now speak and write and have received foundational literacy and numeracy.
