Sahyadri Foundation has been rigorously working for the betterment of lives of beggars. The organization has been involved in mobilizing them to the shelter home and equipping them with the skills and also providing them employment. The organization in association with national Municipal Corporation aims to address the problem of beggary and provide protection, care and rehabilitation to them.

OBJECTIVES

In order to achieve the vision of government of India, Sahyadri Foundation has set the following objectives to achieve the desired goal of complete rehabilitation. The objectives are: -

• Identify and enumerate Beggars in Nagpur city

• Mobilization of Beggars

• Understand the demographic and socio-economic profile of Beggars.

• Deliver health and social services to the Beggars

• Tie up with de-addiction service with three-month package of de-addiction

• Establish new shelters and provide skill education facility for Beggars in Nagpur city

• Complete Din-Charya of beggars starting from Yoga in the morning, three times meal in a day, skill training, Employment & Self-Employment, tie up with Government for the same. Follow up upto one year after employment.

• Improve the literacy level of beggars and make them aware about the various government poverty alleviation programmes like Right to Education, open university etc.

• This is the complete model for rehabilitation of beggars which includes each and everything what can do for them right from mobilization to becomes a complete normal person like us as they have right to live like normal person.

• For complete care, having manpower of doctor, residential warden, care takers, advocate etc.
