Campaign by Society For Child Development

Story

When a child with a disability is born, society and even the child’s parents, in many cases, see the child as a curse or a burden. Little children are often confined within four walls, abandoned by their own families, ostracised by society, and left to rot. Society for Child Development led by Dr Madhumita Puri has been a saviour of over 30,000 such children who found no place in conventional schools and were left to suffer in silence.

SFCD is working towards building an equal world for the differently abled by providing them with the care and education they are often denied. However, lack of funds is becoming a major roadblock in their endeavour to reach out to more people with disabilities. Donate now.

An NGO’s invaluable support

“When a child is born, people distribute sweets, people dance, and sing, everyone celebrates, but when these children (with disability) are born, there is mourning. But these children need the most love and care from us. From the time a disabled child is admitted into our institution till the time they grow up, we fulfil all their needs at an appropriate time, from physiotherapy, early speech therapy, education, and vocational training, says Dr Madhumita.

Help Madhumita pave the way for a future they deserve

“The only struggle we face now is the funds. There is a great need to reach out to many more people who otherwise will spend their lives in a corner of a house without knowing what they are capable of. ..but we cannot do it alone. Empowering more children requires more training material, utilities, machines, manpower, and staff. For all this, we need your support. Please do help us to help them,” pleads Dr. Madhumita Puri.

SFCD spends lakhs of rupees every month to provide various therapies to the children in need and it urgently needs funds to continue its work. Your support can give the children a life of respect and equal opportunities, a life they deserve. Donate now.

Most of us take the privilege of standing on our own two feet for granted. However, for the beneficiaries of SFCD, self-reliance does not come easily.

Specially abled children are still seen as a curse across India and abandoned when their condition is discovered. Society For Child Development goes through great pains to ensure no child is left behind and each one gets the attention and care they deserve to realize their potential.

But we can't do it alone! We're suffering from a dire lack of funds and urgently need your help to overcome this challenge. Get inspired by understanding how we plan to serve the vulnerable; observe the chart below.
