Our Mission
At Sukarya, we believe that every child, regardless of their socio-economic background, deserves access to quality education. Our Education on Wheels initiative transforms this belief into action by bringing fully equipped mobile classrooms to the doorsteps of children living in the slums of Delhi and Gurugram.
The Challenge
Thousands of children in urban slums are deprived of education due to factors like poverty, migration, and lack of access to schools. This educational gap perpetuates the cycle of poverty and limits opportunities for these children to build a better future.
Our Solution
Our mobile classrooms provide:
- Non-formal Education: Basic literacy and numeracy skills to prepare children for formal schooling.
- Digital Literacy: Access to technology and digital learning tools.
- Life Skills Training: Programs to enhance personal development and social skills.
- Health and Hygiene Awareness: Education on maintaining personal health and hygiene.
- Parental Engagement: Counseling sessions to encourage parental support for children's education.
Our Impact
Since 2014, we have:
- Educated over 3,000 children.
- Covered 6 urban slums in Delhi and Gurugram annually.
- 300 children enrolled annually
- Mainstreamed 55% of our students into formal schools.
